Leading the engineering team replacing a legacy core PHP application with a modern web platform on .NET Core, Angular, and MySQL.

  • Own the target architecture and technology selection, including the migration path off the legacy PHP system.
  • Design the rewritten platform’s cloud architecture across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

Used by 400+ third-party administrator firms collectively administering 230,000+ retirement plans. Hands-on across the full stack, and Team Lead for two years before moving to lead the ERISApedia rewrite.

  • Built async processing on Azure Service Bus, Storage tables and queues, Logic Apps, and Azure Functions across all trigger types, keeping long-running work off the request path.
  • Integrated DocuSign, Zendesk, ftwilliam.com, QuickBooks Online, and Braintree into the platform.
  • Implemented SAML single sign-on and identity on .NET Core, with Angular on the front end and SQL Server and Redis behind it.
  • Built proof-of-concept apps to validate new services and integrations, and set up CI/CD on Azure DevOps.
